Hi! My name is Jenny and I am excited to start this learning journey with Wyzant! I have been teaching for nearly 19 years and have experience teaching and tutoring all grades and subjects from Pre-K through 12th grade. My passion is in Special Education, in which I hold a Master's and Bachelor's degree. I am certified as an Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6, a Teacher of the Handicapped, and a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant. My goal as a tutor is to not only provide academic support to learners, but to also create a fun and engaging learning environment.

When it comes to tutoring, I believe in the importance of getting to know each learner on an individual basis. By understanding their interests and preferences, I can tailor my lessons to make them more enjoyable. I also use a variety of presentation modes to keep learners engaged, as well as provide consistent assessments and set SMART goals to ensure their progress.

Outside of teaching, my interests include watching NFL games, WWE and lacrosse. I also enjoy attending concerts, plays, shopping, and cooking. These personal interests also influence my teaching style as I use them to connect with learners and build rapport. I value my time with my family, which has taught me the importance of building strong relationships with my learners and their families. I specialize in working with students with ADHD, Dyslexia, behavioral and speech needs, Special education, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
