I am an enthusiastic, creative, and caring teacher, who is able to engage with students of various ages very easily. My love for teaching stems from my belief that I have the power to make a difference in students' lives. My experience includes over 20 years of teaching at all levels (elementary, middle, and high school), in various types of school systems (private, charter, and public), with students from different backgrounds (American, Haitians, Dominicans, South Americans, Central Americans, Africans, Asians), with students of divergent populations ( ESL, students with special needs (physical, emotional, or developmental disabilities), and with urban and suburban students). I have also tutored college students and adults. My educational background includes a BA in History, a Standard Teacher certificate and a Social Studies Certificate, and a Law Degree from Northwest School of Law at Lewis and Clark College.

As your tutor, I will work with you to identify your style of learning and the particular circumstances that prevent you from reaching your academic goals. Using this information, I will work with you to develop methods that will make it easier for you to understand, retain the information and apply it to your assignments, writing, test taking, or presentations. My hope is that by mastering the above, you will become more self confident in your ability to reach your academic goals.
