As Course Instructor with the University of Pennsylvania, I have taught undergraduate students in World Music and The Modern World and Its Cultural Background. I gained experience with advising students on research methods, readings, and test preparation. I met with students during office hours, discussed course progress and career goals, exercised a detail-oriented approach to compiling, organizing, and proofreading materials for two sections of weekly recitations, and led group discussions and communications about readings and course themes. I also hold a BA in Music and Environmental Studies with a Concentration in Nature, Culture, and Music.
In my positions as English Literature and Language Tutor with Tutorfair, I taught educational materials, coordinated and designed lessons to engage with key themes and textual analyses, and provided feedback for essay responses and relevant classwork. As English Language Tutor with Cambly, I tailored online lessons for individual students of diverse backgrounds, experience levels and ages, offering classes covering topics including grammar and rudiments, essay composition, and test preparation
While working as Invasive Species Management Intern with the National Parks Service and Student Conservation Association, I also taught youth about plant identification and prepared NPS educational materials. In my positions as Arboriculture Intern and Inventory Coordinator with the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, I organized and oversaw youth tree planting events (ages 10-15), and taught volunteers (ages 18-25) to measure and label flora. As Education Intern with the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust, I integrated local natural, cultural, and historical resources into curricula, and collaborated with board members and museum staff to strategize educational program materials and outreach for elementary and middle schools.
