Bio

I'm Megan, I graduated from Kean University in 2018 with a degree in Mathematics with an endorsement in Special Education. I have worked with 6th, and 7th graders while student teaching and am currently going into my 4th year of teaching in a high school teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Discrete Math.

I like to try to make math a little more enjoyable, especially for those that say they do not like it. As well as try to help them better remember the material they are learning.

I like to try to make math a little more enjoyable, especially for those that say they do not like it. As well as try to help them better remember the material they are learning.

I also currently teach a PTCB class to help pharmacy technicians become certified for their exam. I can help with the math sections of the test, as well as questions regarding pharmacy techniques. Include: pharmacology, brand/generics, dosing calculations (for both pharmacy and nursing), insulin and IV flow rates, compounding, and much more.

Cancellation / No Show Policy:
I am very flexible with times, and often with cancellations as long as I am notified and will not charge you any fees.
However we have scheduled, agreed upon a time and the student does not show after 30 minutes, I will end the session and the full hourly rate will be charged.

I currently teach a Discrete Math class at the high school that I currently work for. In this class we focus on Algebra Standards, Geometry standards, and Statistics and probability standards.

I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry in a High School for the last 5 years. Including a summer Geometry course for students that did not pass Geometry during the school year. I have also tutored many students in Geometry.

I am PTCB certified through the Board of Pharmacy. I have also worked in a retail pharmacy as the Senior Pharmacy Technician for over 8 years. I have trained, and helped many of my current technicians study for and pass their upcoming PTCB test.

I have passed the Praxis Core with an above average score. I have also passed the Mathematics Content Praxis. I received a 172 on the Math Praxis Core, and a 170 on the Math content Praxis.

Good math session

Megan was prepared for the lesson and got straight to work with my daughter. She was good at looking and listening for areas of weakness/lack of confidence and was easily able to assist in reminding and also teaching new formulas my daughter had not yet utilized but that my daughter said were much more helpful than what she had previously encountered. We plan on maintaining lessons with Megan to increase proficiency and confidence in algebra.
