Thanks for considering me as your new teacher! My name is Jon B., and I am a certified music teacher with 10 years of educational experience in public, private and tutoring capacities. My degree in music education was obtained in 2017 through Immaculata University, where I concentrated in choral and orchestral studies while playing DIII Men's lacrosse and eventually earned the university's Medal of Music for highest academic achievement.
The first half of my teaching career consisted of elementary and middle school general music and ensemble settings, along with lacrosse coaching, before I transitioned to private teaching in more performance-based, age-varied and concentrated contexts. Throughout my time as an educator, I have maintained a longstanding performing career as a solo tenor and principal 2nd violinist, along with other instrumental performance roles. Pedagogically, my method is an eclectic, immersive blend of composition opportunities, audiation methods, and performance techniques based primarily on the methods of Suzuki, Gordon and Kodaly. I bring a passionate, invested energy to my teaching, ensuring that my students' experiences are inspiring and all-encompassing regarding the elements of music.
I hope to contribute to your musical journey in the near future, and trust that my skills and wisdom will be valuable assets to your experience. Thank you again for your consideration, and I hope to work with you!
