I'm Kevin, and I have been a teacher for students with special needs for over twenty five years, primarily teaching middle and high school students. I have a great deal of experience teaching students with Autism, ADHD, ODD, and Specific Learning Disabilities. I have experience teaching many subjects. I have taught Algebra I and English in high school, but primarily have taught middle school math and science.
I chose special education because I want to help students overcome challenges and grow as individuals. My definition of success is helping a student improve and gain confidence in their abilities and to grow as an individual. I consider myself fortunate to have chosen such a rewarding career, and would like to continue to help students pursue their goals.
I received a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Master's degree from George Mason University, also in Psychology. Upon graduation I completed my Teacher of the Handicapped certificate from New Jersey City University, and have been a teacher ever since.
