Experienced Professor in SPSS and Psychology

I’m Nhan! I earned my Ph.D. in Psychology from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Public Health at San Diego State University’s Graduate School of Public Health. For two years, I worked for a small company in NYC as an SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) trainer. For over five years, I conducted workshops on statistics and data analysis using SPSS for non-research staff at community-based and national nonprofit organizations.

As an Assistant Professor of Psychology, I taught undergraduate students a variety of courses, including Introduction to Psychology, Personality Psychology, Life Span Development, Social Psychology, and Sensation and Perception. I also instructed my students in research methods, statistics, and data analysis using SPSS. Currently, I work as the Lead Program Analyst for Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine's Human Dimension program, a 3-year mandatory curriculum that teaches medical students to treat patients as whole human beings, emphasizing social determinants of health and marginalized communities in NJ.

I have over 15 years of research experience in the social sciences, most of which has focused on survey research. Additionally, I have been a consultant for clients needing to learn SPSS for their courses or jobs. My services include teaching how to design surveys, set up datasets, analyze statistical data, and interpret statistical results using SPSS. When tutoring individuals, I assess the challenges they are facing with the course material and provide real-life examples to clarify concepts.
