I’m Erin! I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Biology and my Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University. Growing up, I struggled to understand scientific concepts in middle and high school, but I was fortunate to have had tutors who helped me transform complex ideas into clear, engaging, and understandable lessons. This experience revealed the actual value of exceptional tutoring. It inspired my own approach as a tutor, one that is student-centered, supportive, and focused on building confidence through understanding rather than memorization.
I have over five years of tutoring experience, working with students from middle school through college. I began tutoring while completing my undergraduate degree, assisting peers in general biology, anatomy, and microbiology. After earning my master’s, I continued tutoring high school and college students in subjects such as biology, human physiology, biochemistry, and general science. I’ve supported students preparing for AP exams, college entrance tests, and pre-med courses, as well as those needing help with lab reports and understanding complex lecture material. In my sessions, I employ a hands-on and discussion-based approach. I start by identifying what a student already understands, then build on that foundation using visual aids, real-life examples, and straightforward explanations to make challenging topics easier to grasp.
My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve their academic performance but also to help them discover their potential and develop a genuine interest in learning. I value open communication with students and parents to tailor lessons to each learner’s needs. I’m always available to answer questions or provide extra support outside of sessions, and I genuinely enjoy seeing my students grow more confident, capable, and curious. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to schedule a lesson or learn more about how I can help!
