My teaching experience spans more than ten years and includes working with multilingual learners and native speakers of all ages. In New York City, I have taught high school ELA and worked as an ESL teacher with Catholic Guardian Services, supporting refugee youth ages 7–17 with limited or interrupted schooling. I have also taught middle and high school students during student teaching placements, and at the university level in Moscow I worked as an assistant lecturer in the English Philology Department. In these roles, I developed and delivered lessons in ELA, ESL, Business English, and Academic English, while preparing students for standardized exams and Cambridge English assessments. I have taught in classroom settings, small groups, and one-on-one, always adjusting instruction to student needs.
In my approach, I use interactive, student-centered methods that build confidence and engagement. I integrate scaffolding strategies, visuals, and culturally responsive materials to help learners connect prior knowledge to new skills. For beginners, I use translation supports, bilingual materials, and educational technology to make tasks accessible. For advanced learners, I emphasize critical reading, writing, and analysis to prepare them for academic and professional success. Whether with adolescents or adults, my goal is to create a supportive environment where students gain independence and reach their full potential.
