I hold a BA from NYU Gallatin, where I designed an individualized concentration in The Politics of Hip-Hop Dance. My studies combined coursework in creative writing, gender and sexuality studies, and performance studies, allowing me to explore the intersections of culture, embodiment, and communication. I hold a BA from NYU Gallatin, where I designed an individualized concentration in The Politics of Hip-Hop Dance. My studies combined coursework in creative writing, gender and sexuality studies, and performance studies, allowing me to explore the intersections of culture, embodiment, and communication. I identify as neurodivergent (autism + ADHD), and my coaching style is informed by both lived experience and over a decade of working with diverse learners in academic and creative settings.

During college, I worked as a private tutor with students ages 10–15, supporting them in writing, reading comprehension, and study habits. After graduating, I served as the first Education Director at the only conservatory for Hip-Hop Dance in the U.S., where I worked for 10 years developing and teaching original coursework. As a professor, I taught students ages 19–40 in writing, cultural and social anthropology, and public speaking, with an emphasis on critical thinking and embodied knowledge.

I’ve also lectured at colleges including NYU Gallatin, SUNY Old Westbury, and Hunter College, and with arts organizations like Lincoln Center and the Asian American Arts Alliance. Internationally, I’ve been invited to speak at global platforms such as the United Nations, Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala, and MJC du Chemin Vert / Le Sillon in France. My engaging speeches and writing have been featured in The Dance Enthusiast, Asian & Loud, and Dance Perspectives.

Throughout my teaching career, I’ve provided individualized mentorship focused on time management, lifestyle design, and sustainable learning routines. I also support students through detailed editing and feedback on academic and creative writing. My tutoring is grounded in empathy, clarity, and creativity. Whether working with neurodivergent students or anyone seeking an affirming, personalized learning experience, I help learners connect to their own rhythm and succeed on their own terms.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

Writing is my first passion and a powerful tool I’ve used to explore and express my experiences as a first-generation Chinese American, queer woman, and Hip-Hop dancer. My work has been published in Dance Perspectives by Stephanie Smith, Own Your Vulnerability by Elizabeth Barry, and Asian & Loud: 70 Journeys—Healing in the Asian Community by Kevin Wang. I also served as a Moving Visions Editor and contributed two articles to The Dance Enthusiast, sharing insights on leadership and identity in the professional dance world. My creative writing blends personal narrative with cultural reflection, offering students a unique lens into storytelling that is both vulnerable and bold.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

With a deep love for language arts, I’ve spent much of my life honing my skills in essay writing. I specialize in helping writers organize their thoughts clearly and cohesively while preserving their unique voice and perspective. My strengths lie in crafting writing that is both concise and impactful—ensuring every word supports the core message. My undergraduate dissertation, The Politics of Hip-Hop Dance, was instrumental in earning my degree, and during my time at a post-college dance conservatory, I wrote over 50 essays a year on topics ranging from cultural and social anthropology to dance and music theory, anatomy and physiology, health and lifestyle, performance critique, leadership, and more.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I’ve been invited to speak on Hip-Hop history and my lived experience within the culture at institutions such as NYU Gallatin, SUNY Old Westbury, Hunter College, Lincoln Center, and the Asian American Arts Alliance. Internationally, I’ve shared my voice on global stages including the United Nations, Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala, and MJC du Chemin Vert / Le Sillon in France. My talks emphasize storytelling, cultural awareness, and social impact, empowering audiences to connect deeply and think critically. Most recently, my speech #UnapologeticallyAsian {2024 Manifesto} was published in an anthology, further cementing my commitment to advocacy through the spoken word.
