Being an electronic circuit design engineer for over 30 years has made me aware that there is a need to bring to the student a love of physics and the math. This understanding of these subjects is essential to understand the rapid changes in technology and for everyday life.

The reason that I am pursuing tutoring is to encourage students out who want to understand the physical sciences and math. Math is the language of physics and engineering The understanding of the math is essential to get an understanding of the system and to determine the outcome.

I graduated from Monmouth College in 1976 with a BSEE
I also have taken graduate level courses in (Communication Theory, Advanced Math and Statistics).
I served in Vietnam 1970 -1971 and hold one US Patent.

I have also taught at Devry Technical School and ITT technical Schools in NJ. The subjects taught were Passive Circuit Analysis, Basic Math, Algebra, Complex Numbers, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Binary number theory and base n, Basic electrical theory (Ohms law, Kirchhoff's Laws, circuit theorem's), Electronic device theory (bipolar transistors, field effect transistor and diodes).

The Industries I have worked in are, Navel Nuclear Instrumentation Design, Aero Space, Power Conversion, Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics and Instrumentation.

As a senior member of the technical staff part of my job was mentoring new engineers with different backgrounds. This training required me to teach the analysis and design practices. I accomplished this by breaking things down to the lowest level and work up from there.

I am flexible in my hours since I am retired and look forward to meeting with the student.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

My qualifications for this subject are using algebra in all its forms which is essential to doing design and analyses.
ASVAB

ASVAB

Beside being an Electronic engineer for 30 yrs I am also veteran and have all the skills to help anyone pass the ASVAB Test.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I have been an electronic engineer for over 20 years. I have done analog and power supplies designs for Aerospace navy nuclear commercial, and military. I have also taught at night in several Technical schools where I taught basic electrical and electronic principles and the math required.
Geometry

Geometry

My understanding of geometry concepts comes for working in industries which requires a better-than-basic understanding of geometrical spaces. Having to use geometry concepts is a great background for tutoring geometry.
Physical Science

Physical Science

Well being an electronic engineer in many areas of industry, insumentation, Neclear instumentation, non contact gaugeing. aerospace.
Physics

Physics

Being an electronic engineer for 30 years and working indifferent disciplines requires a real understanding of physics, giving me a great background to tutor physics.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

My qualifications for this subject are using algebra for design and analysis of circuits, which was essential to the success of projects.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Being a retired electronic circuit engineer, trigonometry and algebra are an everyday tools that must stay sharp. I want to help students get a handle on theses subjects so they can reach calculus.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Being a retired electronic circuit design engineer, math is an everyday tool that must stay sharp. I want to help students get a handle on theses subjects.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I taught several different subjects for Electronics technicians DeVry and Rets technical schools at night. Besides circuit theory and electronics most of the subjects also needed different subjects in Math. Trigonometry is used in AC circuit analysis so it is not a subject which I had to pass the test for but I had to use it.

A Great tutor

Rob was extremely helpful with me the entire time. He had no problem showing me how do stuff multiple times if I didn't understand it. I feel like he really wanted to help and he wasn't there just for the money. I would highly recommend having him as a tutor.

Very Knowledgeable and willing to help

Great guy and instructor. He makes time for students and is very willing to help. I will continue to use Bob as I proceed through getting my engineering degree. Bob created time for me when I only gave him an hours notice.

Excellent Tutor

Robert is a treasure. We discussed op-amp frequency response. Robert knows this subject very well, and more importantly, he knows how to explain it to others. We went into much more detail than the assignment required, and he ensured that I understood what was being asked for and how to acquire that data. He walked me through the OP27 data sheet, and provided a lot of insight on the relevant graphs and table data. I can say that I truly learned a lot from our session and would not hesitate to ask for his help again. I highly recommend Robert for your EE needs.

Patient, humorous, and friendly teacher!

Robert helped me with circuits, and was very in depth. Made sure I knew everything he explained. Highly recommend!

Jesse, 1 lesson with Robert

Robert is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful

Robert went above and beyond to respond to and answer all the questions I had leading up to the lesson. He reviewed my circuit diagrams in advance and came prepared with questions about our circuit, and prompted me to think about some important potential flaws in our circuit, as well as suggest concepts and alternative approaches to the circuit that we should try to explore. Highly recommend him!

Oliver, 1 lesson with Robert

Helps you look at the problems in a whole new way

He showed me a new way to do DC complex circuit calculations in a whole new way that made sense awesome teacher extremely patient.

Blake, 1 lesson with Robert

He is clear, patient and does everything he can to help.

Robert taught me to look closer, think clearer and be patient with myself. And some electronics too. I look forward to woking with him again soon... Thanks Buddy.
