I taught English classes at the college level for several years. My greatest area of expertise is in writing essays. I also have a love of history and media. I do not see learning anything as an isolated incident. Just as life is interconnected all knowledge is interconnected, so knowing just literature or just math or just science is not a complete education. Making connections in the knowledge we gain is as important as making connections in the relationships we seek with others.
Since graduating college I have studied more non-traditional subjects like metaphysics. Having a solid general knowledge of many subjects has allowed me to independently further my learning throughout my adult years. I do not view learning as a finite or limited process; it is my lifelong pursuit. In 2018 I earned a Master's degree in Metaphysics. In the same year I also earned a certificate in Early Childhood Education. The love I have of learning is not complete or fulfilling until I share what I've learned with others. Previous students have enjoyed my unique mixture of serious learning and humor. Learning anything is never easy and that is why I put so much effort into trying to make it fun and interesting for the student.

I have taught basic skills courses to ESL students and advanced composition courses to college students. These courses often touched on other disciplines such as computer skills (word processing and internet searches) and critical thinking skills. I also have a flair for public speaking or speaking to a large group and have often included this component in my courses by encouraging students to "present" an essay to the class without reading it word for word.
