I'm a sophomore at Williams College majoring in mathematics, where I hold a 4.00 GPA in my math courses and a 3.85 overall. My coursework runs well beyond the standard undergraduate track, including Galois Theory, Algebraic Number Theory, Commutative Algebra, and Topology, on top of the full calculus and linear algebra sequence. Before college I scored 800 on the math section of the SAT, 760 on the English section, and a 5 on AP Calculus BC. I have been helping classmates with math since my...

I have been helping classmates with math since my freshman year of high school, so these earlier subjects are ones I know not just as material I have mastered, but as material I have spent years helping other students work through.
Last semester I was a teaching assistant for Abstract Algebra at Williams, where I held weekly office hours and graded proof-based problem sets for 25 students over the course of the term. When I graded proofs, I wrote detailed feedback explaining not just what went wrong, but why the correct reasoning matters, and several students told me that my feedback was really helpful for them. The most important thing I learned over the years is that handing someone the answer does not help them on the next problem. Instead, I work alongside you, figuring out where you are stuck, asking "what would you need in order to show this?", and letting you drive the problem-solving while I keep us on track.
I am comfortable across a wide range of levels, including high school math, SAT math prep, AP Calculus, introductory proofs, and upper-level college courses such as abstract algebra. Whatever level you are working at, I will meet you there. If math feels frustrating or mysterious right now, I would love to help change that. I am patient, and my goal is always to help you build problem-solving instincts you can use long after our sessions end. Reach out and tell me what you are working on, and I would be glad to talk through how I can help.
