For the past twenty years, I have worked with students in a variety of academic settings. While working on my MSED in Childhood Mathematics Education (Grades 1-6), I worked in New York City public schools as a substitute teacher, and as a tutor both privately as well as at Sylvan Learning Center. I have tutored k-12th grade students in all subject areas and provided homework support as well.
As a classroom teacher for the past decade, I have taught math to students in grades 2-8 (including Algebra 1) and have certification as a k-5 teacher as well as for grades 5-8 mathematics. While I am certified for all subjects, I especially love working with students in mathematics. I believe that through the use of manipulatives, games, and other hands-on methods, every student can learn, and come to enjoy doing so. There is nothing I find more rewarding than watching students grow, build confidence, and find success academically where there used to be frustration and struggle.
