Hello, my name is Ryan and I am 26 years old. I have experience tutoring college and high school science courses and I am currently working towards becoming a high school biology teacher. I received my Bachelors degree in Biology from the College of Charleston in 2013 and I am currently working on my Masters in Education for Secondary Biology (7-12) at Saint Joseph's University.
I understand how and why many students struggle with science- some teachers have a hard time making science fun and students become bored with the content. I absolutely love biological science and enjoy making it understandable and interesting for people (even when they find it boring!). Instilling a desire for knowledge in students and helping them through their struggles is one of the greatest rewards for me. I am available to tutor you for your biology and other select science courses.
Some of the upper level undergraduate courses I took were in Ecology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Herpetology, Entomology, Oceanography, Evolution, Organic Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology. I have worked in the medical field for several years and I also have research experience (I conducted a qualitative study of vespid wasps at Dixie Plantation (Charleston County, SC) in coordination with other entomology students and Dr. Brian Scholtens in order to gain an understanding of the insect population in the area and the overall health of the ecosystem).
