I am a fourth-year U.S. MD student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, graduating this spring, and I have matched into a top academic general surgery residency. I scored a 268 on Step 2 CK and a 95th percentile MCAT, and I specialize in helping students improve both their content mastery and test-taking strategy.

I have over 80 hours of MCAT tutoring experience and spent two years tutoring general and organic chemistry at the collegiate level. In medical school, I developed efficient, high-yield study systems for shelf exams and Step preparation, earning Honors in 7/8 core clerkships and high USMLE scores. I now help students apply those same strategies to maximize performance on MCAT, shelf exams, and Step 1/2.

I’ve worked with students at a wide range of starting points — including those beginning below 500 — and helped them achieve significant score improvements by focusing on efficient study systems, question-based learning, and test-day strategy.

My approach is highly structured and personalized:

First session:
We assess your current level, identify weaknesses, and build a detailed, realistic study plan tailored to your timeline and goals.

Ongoing sessions:
We focus heavily on practice-based learning — breaking down passages, refining question approach, and targeting weak areas to maximize score gains. For medical students, this includes NBME-style question strategy, shelf exam pacing, and efficient use of resources like UWorld and practice exams.

Final phase (leading up to exam):
We analyze practice exams in depth to identify patterns in missed questions and develop specific strategies to consistently improve performance.

I emphasize teaching students how to think through questions rather than just reviewing content, which is often the key to breaking through score plateaus.

I recommend that students have access to practice passages or question banks that we can review together during sessions. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to set up an introductory session.

I am an experienced tutor for the MCAT and current medical student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine in NJ. I excelled in my anatomy course in medical school and I am happy to help you learn anatomy at any level. Looking forward to working with you!
Biology

Biology

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2022, and I am a current 3rd year medical student at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. I became a certified tutor at my undergraduate institution where I tutored biology and chemistry for 4 years. Recently I have been tutoring for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). I am happy to help with any form of biology review!
MCAT

MCAT

I took the MCAT exam in January, where I scored 95th percentile, including 96th percentile on the Chemistry/Physics and Biology/Biochemistry sections and 100th percentile on Psychology/Sociology. I think the MCAT is a very learnable test. My first few practice tests were below 500, and in just a couple months, I was consistently scoring at or above 517. I look forward to sharing some of my studying and testing strategies with you.

USMLE

I am a current US MD student and tutor for the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams at my school. I was recently hired by my medical school to tutor these exams and I am happy to help other students achieve similar success. I have more than 100+ hours of tutoring experience across various platforms in subjects such as the MCAT and college biology and chemistry, and have tutoring techniques that have help students achieve their score goals.

Knowledgable and helpful tutor!

Nicholas helped me significantly improve my grades in my college-level Bio I class. I struggled to understand parts of the content and had difficulty answering exam-style questions. We reviewed content and strategies for tackling exam-style questions, which helped improve my ability to succeed in the class.

Bravo!

Nicholas was great at putting together a solid plan, insight and creative ways to approach some of my obstacles. He is helping me in a number of areas, but in my case, we are leaning into biology which was a weak spot for me. Well done, Nicholas!

Knowledgeable and encouraging tutor

Nicholas taught me how to approach the biology section by reviewing step by step where I might have gone wrong in my diagnostic test. He also prepared a study schedule and tips for consistent MCAT practicing during and after the school semester. He was also very encouraging the entire time and made me feel that my goal is definitely in a reach!
