Bio

I'm a full stack web developer currently working in NYC for 8+ years. At work we used React, Next.js and a headless Craft CMS as our backend. My knowlege also includes PHP, Joomla, Wordpress and cakePHP. I have also worked as an Art Director doing graphic design, video and illustration before this.

I have no preference in the age of the student as long as their willing to learn and have a strong will to read documentation. The way I like to teach is break projects up into small tasks to eventually complete large applications. If the student has questions that is even better. I would prefer to teach remotely but if student demands it, I can come to them to set up work environments. I actively encourage students to use a good IDE to get through the tedium or writing code.

Libraries I used in conjunction with javascript are parallax.js, jquery, modernizer and greensock. I also use prototype to create reusable objects.

I work as a Full Stack Developer for 8+ years in NYC. I use webstorm as my IDE and used jquery extensively with bootstrap. With the new es6 and babel compiling people are moving away from jquery for more complex projects. Jquery is considered very basic and I have no problem teaching it. The most important skills to learning jquery is reading the documentation.

I have built several websites ranging from splash pages to content management systems. CakePHP is my ideal library to create CMS sites but i'm also good with Wordpress and Joomla. I am mostly self taught but I took formal PHP classes at NYU. I know how to right classes and create reusable objects. PHP can't be memorized, I want to teach students how to read the documentation. I also want to established a strong foundation on how back end server works and understand HTTP requests.
