For almost a decade I have been experiencing this on both an academic as well as a professional level.

For almost a decade I have been experiencing this on both an academic as well as a professional level.

I am new to the private tutoring world, however, I have countless hours of teaching other accounting professionals in dealing with traditional challenge areas as well as updating them on industry specific developments, particularly in the area of taxation.

It is my goal to help as many students as I can master the many different areas of Accounting as I have been able to do, ideally while opening doors to employment in the process. I have been through the gauntlet so far in my career facing a historically bad economy, increased CPA licensure requirements, and "David vs Goliath " type competition considering I earned both my Bachelor's and Masters' degrees from city schools. Nonetheless, I have been employed with prestigous firms everyday since my first internship while studying for my Bachelor's and would love to advise future and present graduates on how to pull this off themselves.

Similar to tax preparation, I am thoroughly educated and experienced using QuickBooks for bookkeeping, financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis. I was trained meticulously through my Bachelor's program to use QuickBooks efficiently and effectively and was among the top of my class while doing so. I later utilized my knowledge of QuickBooks during my first internship as a junior accountant intern and throughout my career ever since.

I am thoroughly qualified to tutor in the subject of taxation. I have the education, certification, professional background, and teaching experience necessary to translate its curriculum to potential students. From an education stand point, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the College of Staten Island with a GPA of 3.5. I also have a Masters degree in Taxation from Baruch College also with a 3.5 GPA. Also, I am a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York. As far as my experience professionally, I have almost 10 years of public accounting experience, more than half of that time period with a "big four," multi-national firm. Throughout my career I've taught weekly "lunch and learns" on various tax topics and updates while working with the big four but also have always been prone to educate those around me in the work environment. I also tutored multiple undergraduate students in various tax classes while studying for my Masters degree. When tutoring I am very focused on building a strong foundation of the general concepts before dissecting certain aspects. Given the complexity of the subject area it is my experience that a strong and confident grasp on a given concept is vital before it can be thoroughly analyzed or used in practical examples. Sometimes unique rationalizations are needed in order to achieve this, which is where I feel I thrive and can be separated from the average tutor.
