I earned a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Psychology from Rutgers University. My experience is well-rounded, as I dived into both fields during my time as an undergrad and throughout my post-baccalaureate career. I worked in research labs conducting analysis with Python, Excel, and SPSS and developed applications using C++, JavaScript, Java, and C. Beyond technical work, I have consistently volunteered for non-profits; psychology has allowed me to engage with my community at hospices, animal shelters, and support hotlines. I particularly love teaching math to children of all ages, providing just enough support to help them build the confidence to solve problems independently.
My tutoring approach is about meeting students where they are. I’ve found the best way to help is to first observe how a student attempts a problem before guiding them. This allows me to explain concepts in a way that truly makes sense to them personally. Whether helping a young child grasp basic math or adjusting support for a student with specific learning needs, I focus on making the material feel less intimidating and more manageable.
I bring three years of experience tutoring students from preschool through 12th grade in math and STEM. Subjects I teach include Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2. My professional background includes working at several tutoring centers and STEM programs, where I have handled responsibilities ranging from early childhood logic to high school level math. I am dedicated to creating an environment where math feels approachable and achievable for every student.
Ultimately, my dual background in technology and psychology allows me to bring both analytical precision and empathy to my work. I aim to teach the "why" behind a math problem while nurturing a mindset of wonder and perseverance. I am committed to helping students recognize their dignity and potential, ensuring they leave each session feeling more capable and purposeful.
