I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor who enjoys helping elementary school students build a strong foundation in math and feel more confident in their abilities. I am currently a undergraduate student planning on pursuing medicine with a strong academic background in math and science, and I have always enjoyed explaining concepts in a clear, step-by-step way. My interest in tutoring comes from seeing how much of a difference individualized support can make, especially for younger students who may feel overwhelmed or discouraged in the classroom.
My experience working with children has taught me the importance of adapting lessons to each student’s learning style and pace. I have helped elementary-aged students with homework, test preparation, and foundational skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and early problem-solving. Most of my experience has been in one-on-one or small group settings, where I focus on breaking down concepts into manageable steps, using examples, visuals, and repetition when needed. I prioritize creating a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
As a tutor, my goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to help them understand the “why” behind the math. I believe that confidence is just as important as content, especially at the elementary level. I am patient, encouraging, and committed to helping each student improve at their own pace. I work closely with parents to understand goals and areas of concern, and I aim to make math a subject that feels approachable and achievable for every child I work with.
