I've been a professional illustrator/storyboard artist that's worked in film, tv, games, theme parks for 25 years. I am traditionally trained with traditional tools such as drawing, painting, sculpting as well as being highly proficient in using computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Blender and Sketchup. I'm from Los Angeles and started working in the entertainment industry a long time ago and I mainly work in film/tv now in NYC. I still do remote work for studios all over the US and overseas .

I have been mentoring young students to young professional for a very long time now to help them improve their artwork whether it be as a hobby or for having a better professional portfolio. I've had almost every single person who became a professional contact me years after I've helped them, thanking me for helping them to sharpen their portfolios and improve. These people are working in film, tv, games, animation, etc. This gives me a great sense of satisfaction because those young people that I've helped guide have achieved their dreams and maybe I can do the same for you, somebody you know, or your child.

For digital tutoring such as for Photoshop basics or illustration with Photoshop- For an in-person tutoring session, if you don't have Photoshop or a computer, I will be providing one during the duration of the tutoring session with a mouse or Wacom tablet. You will also be given notes, suggestions and critiques during these sessions based on what you want to accomplish with your work. Traditional mediums like graphite pencil, charcoal, acrylic paint are my foundation from school and Instruction plus high-level technique will make your art more refined and improve your work. No matter if you're a beginning artist, high school student, young professional or adult, I can help you get better.

Animation

Animation

I first started off my career working in the gaming industry and there I learned how to use Maya for 3d work, texturing and some animation. I also learned how to use Photoshop for texturing in gaming as well as digital painting. These days I use Blender and Sketchup for 3d/animation work for my job. For my home studio, I use dual monitors(one being a Huion--very similar to a Cintiq) as well as a self-built computer to handle higy polygon 3d work, rendering and animation.
Drawing

Drawing

I've been traditionally trained in drawing at Art center College of Design...the top art school in the United States. Traditionally trained meaning all aspects of drawing. Forms, shapes, linework, shading, perspective, proportions, etc. This applies to organic and non-organic things such as animals or buildings. We will first start out in very basic shapes, then refine those shapes into smaller, more defined shapes and then add details. I have expertise in many different kinds of mediums such as graphite pencils, color pencils, charcoal pencils, chalk, pastels, etc. There are very specific techniques with all of those mediums to take anybody's technical skills to a new level and improve your artwork.
Painting

Painting

My specific experience with painting includes learning how to paint with acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and oils. I first learned acrylic before attending art school and learned from really great professional illustrators that used acrylic as their main medium for work. I learned about using different shaped brushes as well as different sizes of brushes to achieve different things. This goes for any painting medium as different brushes, different techniques and different viscosities of paint all affect how paint lays down on paper, illustration board, watercolor paper or canvas. I've used oil paint for such studies as figure and head painting as well as acrylic paint. Watercolors and goauche more with landscape paintings and organic things due to their smaller sizes of paint containers and transparencies when painting washes or thicker and more saturated colors. There are many different techniques that will help you achieve your goals.
Sketchup

Sketchup

I started using Sketchup back in 2006 on a commercial in Los Angeles for Lexus and it has remained one of my main tools in image creation for film/tv due to its ease of use for everybody that uses it. I've been using it now for 18 years and I can't imagine not having that program to use for work.
