Hi! My name is Lisa and I really look forward to working together on Conversational English. Since my background is education already, tutoring in ESL has come naturally for me. I attended Ohio State University, where I studied Early Childhood Education. After graduating from OSU, I pursued my Masters degree in Special Education at Cleveland State University. I worked in private schools teaching special ed for kids with physical and developmental disabilities. My passion for teaching special education stems from a profound belief in the transformative power of education for every individual, regardless of their unique learning needs. In addition to special education, I am certified as a mindful meditation teacher so all of our tutoring sessions together will be very relaxed.
During Covid, I started volunteering as an ESL tutor in my community and local library and fell in love with working with adults. I have gotten great feedback from everyone regarding my teaching methods. My teaching style is lighthearted and easygoing. With a patient and encouraging demeanor, I am committed to building confidence in my students. As an ESL conversationalist, I am dedicated to facilitating language acquisition while celebrating the rich tapestry of cultures that language represents. I am super excited to work with you!
