Hi, I'm Krittika! I recently completed my PhD in Molecular Biophysics at Florida State University, building on a Master's in Biotechnology and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry from the University of Calcutta. Over the past several years, I've spent thousands of hours in the lab studying how proteins work and just as much time helping others understand and enjoy science along the way.
I tutor biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, from high school through college and graduate-level coursework, as well as exam prep (such as the GRE biology/biochemistry sections or general science placement exams). My approach is to start with the "big picture" of why a concept matters, then break it down into clear, manageable steps with real examples and practice problems, adjusting pace based on how a student is absorbing the material. I'm especially comfortable working with students who feel overwhelmed or anxious about science, since I've spent years helping labmates and students go from confused to confident.
I have direct teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant for a year for an undergraduate Biology Lab course, where I guided students through experimental techniques and data analysis. I've also mentored more than ten students, including PhD rotation students, undergraduates, and high schoolers in research design and problem-solving, and served as President of a student organization dedicated to making science communication clear and accessible to broad audiences.
