Hi, I’m Joonseok, but you can call me Joon. I’m a Math-focused Operations Research major at the United States Military Academy at West Point, and I scored a 770 on the SAT Math section. I’ve spent the last three years tutoring students in math, Korean, and English, and I now specialize in helping high school and early college students build confidence and consistency in math.

In SAT Math and school math courses, I don’t just “go over homework.” I start with a diagnostic to identify exactly which topics and question types are causing trouble, then create a focused plan built around targeted practice, clear step-by-step explanations, and timed mini-sections. During sessions, I walk students through multiple ways to solve a problem, emphasize fast and reliable methods, and show them how to avoid common traps. Between sessions, I assign strategic homework and review their work so we can track progress over time.

I work best with motivated students who are willing to put in consistent effort and want a structured, no-nonsense approach. Whether your goal is to raise an SAT Math score, catch up in Algebra or Geometry, or get ahead in Precalculus or Calculus, I’ll meet you at your current level and push you toward your target with clear goals and honest feedback. I currently offer online lessons only, which gives us flexibility to schedule around school, sports, and other activities.
