I'm an educator with 10+ years teaching at schools like Feldston and GDS (D.C.) I earned my MSEd from Bank Street College of Education, renowned for progressive education and understanding how ALL students learn. I'm also a NY Emmy-nominated documentary producer/research lead. I've reimagined traditional curricula, developing college-level History courses and creating youth programs where teens explore identity and develop their voices. I've also guided dozens through competitive high school & college admissions and authored just as many recommendation letters. What I love most isn't just sharing content; it's figuring out what makes each student thrive and designing instruction that works for THEM.

I'm a learner-centered educator, not a "lecture and memorize" teacher. I start by getting to know each student's strengths, challenges, and interests. Many struggle not just with content, but with organizational skills: time management, note-taking, study habits, and more. I work on executive functioning skills alongside content because I've seen how much confidence students gain with practical systems. I've worked with all types of learners: students with ADHD, test anxiety, learning differences, visual or hands-on learners who struggle with textbooks, and those who need someone to make material less overwhelming. I use a variety of resources (I'm good at research!). Whatever helps concepts click. I create a trusting, collaborative environment that centers the student. My former students will tell you: I give my all to help them succeed and truly get to know who they are.
How I Can Help: I work with students across History, Social Studies, ELA, essay writing, study skills, time management, and admissions support. Whether your child is preparing for AP exams, catching up, or needs help building confidence, I bring patience, creativity, and systems that work. For new students, I offer the first session at a reduced rate. Feel free to contact me!

ADHD

ADHD

As someone with ADHD myself and over 10 years teaching students with ADHD, I bring both lived experience and professional expertise to help students thrive. I've worked with students across the diagnostic spectrum- undiagnosed, newly diagnosed, and established, collaborating with learning specialists to create differentiated materials and individualized strategies. My background helps me address executive functioning challenges like time management, organization, and task initiation while building confidence and self-advocacy. I create judgment free environments where I help students learn practical systems that work with their brains.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I've spent over a decade teaching essay writing , guiding students through every stage of the writing process from finding credible sources and proper citation to building strong arguments with evidence and analysis. I've developed comprehensive rubrics and frameworks that break down complex essays into manageable components: thesis statements, topic sentences, integrating evidence, and conclusions. My approach works for all types of learners. I differentiate materials and use varied resources to make writing accessible, whether students are tackling research papers, analytical essays, or preparing for AP exams.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I've spent over 10 years specializing in executive functioning skills that transform struggling students into confident, independent learners. My progressive education training equipped me to teach time management, organizational systems, planning strategies, and study skills alongside academic content. I've worked extensively with students who have ADHD, learning differences, and test anxiety, creating personalized frameworks for note-taking, task prioritization, and long term project management. My approach begins with getting to know each student and then building their confidence with practical systems and self-advocacy skills that they can use across all their classes and beyond.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I've guided numerous students through competitive high school and college admissions, helping them craft AUTHENTIC personal statements that bring out each individual and stand out to admissions committees. As a long term advisor at each private school I worked at, I got to know students deeply over four years, which helped me guide them in translating their unique experiences into compelling narratives. I've also written many high school & college recommendation letters myself, so I understand what admissions officers look for and how to help students showcase their strengths, overcome challenges, and present their authentic voices in essays that resonate.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I've worked extensively with students with diverse learning needs including ADHD, learning differences, test anxiety, auditory processing challenges and visual processing difficulties. I collaborate closely with learning specialists to implement accommodations and differentiate all my materials, creating multiple pathways for students to access content. My training in progressive education emphasizes understanding how ALL students learn, and I've supported students through the diagnostic process, helped implement accommodations, and created inclusive classroom environments where every learner feels validated and capable of success.
United States History

United States History

I've designed and taught comprehensive history curricula including US History surveys covering Indigenous societies through the New Deal, and specialized courses on Latin American revolutions, South Asian history, African studies, and Puerto Rican/Nuyorican identity - demonstrating my ability to contextualize US History within global frameworks. I also work as researcher and producer for documentaries on civil rights and educational equity, conducting archival research and analyzing historical documents.
