I'm an educator with 10+ years teaching at schools like Feldston and GDS (D.C.) I earned my MSEd from Bank Street College of Education, renowned for progressive education and understanding how ALL students learn. I'm also a NY Emmy-nominated documentary producer/research lead. I've reimagined traditional curricula, developing college-level History courses and creating youth programs where teens explore identity and develop their voices. I've also guided dozens through competitive high school & college admissions and authored just as many recommendation letters. What I love most isn't just sharing content; it's figuring out what makes each student thrive and designing instruction that works for THEM.
I'm a learner-centered educator, not a "lecture and memorize" teacher. I start by getting to know each student's strengths, challenges, and interests. Many struggle not just with content, but with organizational skills: time management, note-taking, study habits, and more. I work on executive functioning skills alongside content because I've seen how much confidence students gain with practical systems. I've worked with all types of learners: students with ADHD, test anxiety, learning differences, visual or hands-on learners who struggle with textbooks, and those who need someone to make material less overwhelming. I use a variety of resources (I'm good at research!). Whatever helps concepts click. I create a trusting, collaborative environment that centers the student. My former students will tell you: I give my all to help them succeed and truly get to know who they are.
How I Can Help: I work with students across History, Social Studies, ELA, essay writing, study skills, time management, and admissions support. Whether your child is preparing for AP exams, catching up, or needs help building confidence, I bring patience, creativity, and systems that work. For new students, I offer the first session at a reduced rate. Feel free to contact me!
