I have been teaching for about fifteen years. I started as an academic coach at SCORE! Educational Centers in Union, New Jersey, tutoring K–8 students in math, English, and reading. While at Princeton I taught a weekly diversity elective to 7th graders at John Witherspoon Middle School, and I volunteered on literacy activities with children at Casa de Fe in Ecuador. After teachNOLA, I taught Spanish to K–2 students in a summer immersion program at John Dibert Elementary. I then spent two years as a math and special education teacher at Sci Academy in New Orleans, working with high schoolers, writing and implementing IEPs alongside parents, administrators, and school psychologists, and building behavior and transition plans for students with emotional-behavioral needs. At West Jefferson High School in Harvey, Louisiana, I was hired on special assignment to raise Algebra 1 End-of-Course scores, wrote the school's Common Core Algebra 1 curriculum, and led teacher professional development on maximizing instructional time and data-driven instruction. I have also substitute taught across grade levels and subjects in Scotch Plains-Fanwood, New Jersey, and most recently served as lead teacher for a mixed-age, multilingual homeschool co-op for migrant children in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, tailoring instruction to each child's language level, background, and pace.

ACT English

ACT English wants the rules cold and applied in about 36 seconds a question. I wrote a Princeton senior thesis, co-hosted radio on WBOK New Orleans, and taught in public schools through teachNOLA, so I've worked in both correct English and clear English, which aren't the same thing. We'll cover punctuation, sentence structure, and the redundancy questions students overthink. Most of what students add to a sentence, this test wants taken back out.

ACT Math runs from pre-algebra through trig, so a gap anywhere will show up. I taught math and special education at Sci Academy and West Jefferson High School in New Orleans, completed Princeton's pre-medical track, and took Physics 1 and 2 at The College of New Jersey. I did molecular research at UPenn's diabetes lab under Dr. Mitchell A. Lazar through the HHMI EXROP program and completed Princeton's pre-medical track, so experimental design is familiar territory. This section mostly checks whether you can read graphs and tables under time pressure, and the outside content knowledge required is small. Students who freeze here are usually reading paragraphs they never needed. I'll show you which ones to skip.

SAG-AFTRA performer working professionally in film and television since 2006, with more than 88 credits across features and series including Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Watchmen, Lovecraft Country, Selma, and Megalopolis, plus a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble (Avengers: Endgame). My on-set work spans acting, stunt performance, and stunt doubling for actors including Sanaa Lathan, Cynthia Erivo, Jurnee Smollett, and Nathalie Emmanuel, which trained me to match another performer's physicality, intention, and emotional register on camera. I have taught acting for 10 years, including beginner and all-level classes, and served as Director of Theatre at Young Audiences High School, where I taught all of the school's theatre classes and directed two full student productions. I built and implemented Individual Education Plans and behavior-management strategies for students with ADHD and other emotional-behavioral needs during two years teaching math and special education at Sci Academy in New Orleans and West Jefferson High School in Harvey, Louisiana. As a psychometrist at Jefferson Neurobehavioral Group, I administered standardized neuropsychological assessments and collaborated with clinicians to evaluate cognitive and behavioral conditions, so I can read an evaluation report and translate ADHD-related scores into what they actually mean for a student's focus, organization, and day-to-day learning. Across roughly fifteen years of teaching in special education, general classroom, and self-directed learning settings, I have worked with a number of ADHD students and helped them build executive-function, focus, and transition strategies that worked for how their minds actually operate. African American Studies

I hold an A.B. in Religion from Princeton University, where my coursework included Black Power and the Theology of Liberation, African American Religious History, Race and Medicine, Muslims in America, and Cuban Literature of Slavery, alongside a two-term senior thesis and departmental exam. That study connected religion, race, medicine, and literature rather than treating them as separate subjects, which is how I approach the field with students. I taught a weekly elective on diversity to seventh graders at John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton for three years, and I later taught in New Orleans public schools serving predominantly Black student populations, including two years as a Special Education and math teacher. I am of Akan and Balanta-B'rassa heritage, study my ancestral language and culture weekly with my village, and am pursuing citizenship in Guinea-Bissau, and I have roughly fifteen years of teaching experience across elementary through high school and adult learners.

I taught math and special education in New Orleans public schools — first at Sci Academy, then at West Jefferson High School — where I worked with students who had been told they were "bad at math." Algebra 1 is where most of that fear starts, usually because the leap from arithmetic to symbols never got explained properly. My senior thesis at Princeton University was ethnographic field research on indigenous healing in the Ecuadorian Amazon, conducted in Pastaza Province through Child Family Health International in coordination with Ecuador's Ministry of Health. I have since built a professional performing career in film and television as a SAG-AFTRA actor and stunt performer with more than 88 credits, work that depends daily on the alignment, control, and body awareness ballet trains, and I hold certifications in restorative yoga, yin yoga, chair yoga, and a 200-hour yoga teacher training with over 1,000 hours of teaching. I taught Spanish in New Orleans public schools, earned a Spanish certificate at Princeton, and have lived and taught in Mexico — so I know both sides of the language gap. I also taught special education, where the work is meeting a student exactly where their language is and building from there. I have worked professionally in film and television since 2006, with more than 88 credits as a SAG-AFTRA performer on productions including Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Watchmen, Lovecraft Country, Selma, Richard Jewell, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Suicide Squad, Superman, and Megalopolis. I have worked on set as an actor, stunt performer, stunt double, intimacy coordinator, stunt coordinator, and producer, which has given me a working understanding of how a film actually gets made, from department structure and set protocol to how a scene is blocked, shot, and covered. I am a Screen Actors Guild Award winner for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble (Avengers: Endgame), a nominee for Infinity War and Lovecraft Country, and I hold a Level 3 Intimacy Coordinator certification. Alongside this I hold degrees from Princeton University and Quantic School of Business and Technology and have taught for roughly fifteen years, so I can explain film production, on-set roles, and career pathways in the industry clearly to students at any level.

I hold a 200-hour yoga teacher certification from the Yoga & Ayurveda Center along with restorative, yin, and chair yoga certifications and an Ayurveda Specialist certification, and I am currently completing my 500-hour training. I have taught over 1,000 hours of yoga since 2023, both virtually and in person in Mexico, and I am E-RYT 200 and YACEP eligible and currently pursuing NSCA Certified Personal Trainer certification. My athletic background is competitive: I was a state championship gymnast on vault and beam, inducted into the Union High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and a track team captain competing in triple jump, pole vault, high jump, javelin, shot put, and sprints, and I trained in ballet from childhood through the New Jersey School of Ballet. Since 2013 I have worked as a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer with more than 88 film and television credits, a job that requires maintaining strength, mobility, and conditioning to a professional standard, and I am also a certified life coach with roughly fifteen years of teaching experience.

Spatial reasoning is how I've made a living. Geometry rewards students who can see the figure before writing the proof, and that's teachable.

Prealgebra is the last clean chance to fix arithmetic gaps before they harden — fractions, negatives, ratios, and the first variables. I went through this test myself on the way to Princeton, then spent years teaching high school math in New Orleans and coaching students one-on-one at SCORE!. SAT Math punishes students who know content but not the test's habits — the traps, the timing, the shortcuts the College Board rewards. I teach the underlying math and the test-specific moves at the same time. We'll drill your actual weak spots, not a generic curriculum.
