Since 2008, Barbara M. has offered structured, multisensory reading instruction to students with learning challenges such as Dyslexia, ADHD, and other non-traditional learning needs. As a Certified Wilson Instructor and special education teacher, she uses the Wilson Language System to teach students to decode and encode words to mastery. As an experienced teacher, she has helped even the most challenged readers succeed in reading fluency and comprehension.

Mrs. M. uses her training in various Orton Gillingham-based programs to teach word attack skills through various teaching methods. She tailors instruction to meet different learning styles, improves word recognition, and enhances reading fluency. With a wide range of educational tools, Barbara is well-prepared to address the needs of all her students.

Throughout her career, Mrs. M. has gained an in-depth understanding of English language structure, equipping her students with the essential skills they need to succeed in reading and literacy. Her diagnostic lesson planning ensures each student gets individualized support, empowering them to become confident, independent readers.
Mrs. M. understands the broad impact that reading difficulties may have on other academic areas and real-life situations. She believes that teaching not only reading, but also math word problems, writing skills, and other subjects, is essential. She is dedicated to helping students build these skills for ongoing success.
