Bio

Hello! I graduated from Lafayette College in 2022, with a degree in neuroscience. While there, I also wrote for the college newspaper. In 2017, I won a national writing competition run by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, in the category of experimental fiction. That same year, I scored 760/800 in the verbal section of the SAT, which was in the 99th percentile.

I don't have experience tutoring yet, but I can give high-quality feedback on the meaning and effectiveness of a piece of writing. I also believe that the best way to improve your writing is to fall in love with reading, so if I'm working with anybody for a significant length of time, you can expect me to send them lots of essays, articles, or even books, that I particularly enjoyed reading myself :)

I similarly don't have experience with SAT/ACT prep, but I'd be more than happy to work through preparatory materials with anyone gearing up to take those tests. I am good at finding ways for people to intuit challenging ideas, on the fly, inspired by practice problems.

I can help with math, too! It's never been my specialty, but I'm good at explaining why it works the way it does, and I've been totally convinced of its importance in the real world. It's also fun, if you approach it the right way. I've been working through a linear algebra course myself, and I know some Python for data analysis (which is not itself math, obviously, but it's an example of a valuable use-case). I can provide help with any math course typically taught up to calculus.

I'm comfortable meeting at public libraries, coffee shops, or in your home!
