As an elementary school teacher, I found my calling in reading and math intervention, which is how my journey began. I believe that every child can learn, but not all on the same day or in the same way. That's why I've spent my whole career learning how to reach every student. My sessions are interactive, based on evidence, and tailored to each child's needs. They focus on building basic skills, fluency, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

I have been a teacher for over 25 years and have taught students in grades K–5, mostly in the fourth grade. Over the course of my career, I have become very knowledgeable about small-group instructional programs that help struggling students before, during, and after school, as well as in summer enrichment settings.
I have a Master's degree in Reading and Literacy, am a certified Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist, and have finished a graduate-level math program called Partnership for Excellence in Middle School Mathematics. I did all of this because I am dedicated to my work and love learning.
I also work as a private tutor in addition to my time in the classroom. From the very first session, I make it a point to get to know each child well by learning about their interests, strengths, and areas for growth from both the child's and the parent's point of view. Each session starts with a short icebreaker or fun activity to help students relax and feel at ease, especially if they have found the subject difficult or emotionally stressful in the past. This helpful approach makes the classroom a good place to learn, where students feel confident, motivated, and ready to learn.
I have learned effective ways to help students reach their full potential, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning through my ongoing education and professional growth. This has always been my main goal.
