Hello there! My name is Cody, and it is a pleasure to have the potential opportunity to provide educational services to you. My educational journey began by working 1:1 with students that have behavioral, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. It is from this start, that I quickly realized that serving others and helping them grow through perseverance and dedication, was going to be the passion of my life. Since I started teaching with children and adolescents, I have developed many skills and have intrinsically pushed myself and those around me to work hard and never give up.
I continued working in special education in a public school about a year and half later, and currently am still with the same district. Over three years I gained experience in working with students 1:1, in small groups, provide positive interventions, and working as a teachers assist in early childhood. During this time I also worked for about a year as a Behavior Technician where I provided in-home therapy services for a child with severe autism. I also worked for about seven months providing in-person tutoring services with Huntington Learning Center.
Last year, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Educational Studies in Elementary Education, and began teaching 1st grade this school year. Additionally, my degree coursework prepared me to teach English, Math, Science, and Social Studies up to 6th Grade. I have worked with students from ages 3-19. I put a majority of focus and attention on using a whole-child approach in my classroom. I believe that all students can achieve any aspirations and goals if they work hard and never give up. It is my personal obligation to instill a sense of love in my students hearts for themselves, their loved ones, their community, and their world.
The next generation will change the world, and I am going to inspire as many young minds as I can to make a difference.
