Hello, I am Omar. I'm a physics college student with experience in scientific research and data analysis. As a life long learner, I'm experienced with many of the challenges and setbacks students face and, having overcome many of them myself, I am committed to helping my students overcome them as well. Mainly, I noticed that the best courses were the ones where the instructor focused on expanding on every step rather than rush through material to meet arbitrary benchmarks. This meticulous attention to details really ensures that every student has a solid foundation of the basic concepts before building upon them when tackling harder problems, which is what I strive to do in my tutoring sessions.
I focus on finding the students' weak points and preparing study sessions that help them build a conceptual foundation through practice. I also help them structure their independent study and set reasonable expectations so they can see improvements in their homework and test results. These essential study skills are crucial to develop early on as they can be applied to not just the subjects I teach but all courses the student will take in their academic career. I applied this tutoring approach with a few students over the course of 3 years to great results. My students showed significant improvements and were able to achieve satisfactory scores on their course exams, SAT exams, and even MCAT subject tests.
My passion for teaching and learning drives me to go above and beyond for my students. I offer homework help, and spend time outside of the sessions preparing examples to address any questions or clarifications the students bring up. I love seeing my students succeed and hope to do the same with you/your student.
