High School Math Teacher

I was born and bred to be a teacher. As the child of two teachers, my life has always been enriched with a sense of knowledge and a passion for learning. In high school, I earned a perfect 800 on the math section of my SATs. I went on to graduate from college with my B.A. in Mathematics and later passed the Praxis exam with the ETS Recognition of Excellence Award given to the top 15% of all test takers in the field of mathematics. I was hired as a high school math teacher and have been rewarded ever since by helping hundreds of students realize their learning potential and reach their academic goals.

As a high school math teacher, I have previously taught Algebra II and Precalculus, and I am currently teaching Algebra I, Geometry, and Honors Linear Algebra. I have a passion for tutoring Calculus, however I have not been fortunate enough to teach it in a full class setting yet. I also specialize in the preparation for standardized tests including SAT, ACT, PARCC, and ASVAB. It is my goal to keep my students challenged, but not overwhelmed. Students can bring homework and other assignments from their own class or be provided with materials that I bring during each session.

Teaching is just a glorified way of explaining oneself, and simplifying concepts has always been at the forefront of my teaching techniques. I have been tutoring in math for the past ten years. In the classroom and as a tutor, it is important for me to rekindle the thirst for knowledge that so many people, young and old, tend to forget.
