My name is Aarnika G, and I am a sophomore undergraduate student in the NJIT–NJMS BS/MD program. I have been tutoring for approximately five years, beginning in my freshman year of high school, through platforms such as TutorFly and Fiveable. During this time, I have worked with students across a wide range of grade levels and subjects.
I have taught middle school students in grades 5–8 in English Language Arts, mathematics, and science. Through Fiveable, I also taught high school students in AP English, AP Psychology, and AP Chemistry. In particular, I helped teach Fiveable’s Cram Finale review sessions, reaching audiences of over 500 students. In addition to teaching, I created lesson plans and presentation slides for these large-scale review sessions, which strengthened my ability to organize and communicate complex material effectively.
I have worked as an SAT tutor for the past two years, having received a 1570. One of my favorite aspects of tutoring is breaking down challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps that help students build both understanding and confidence. I work best with middle school and high school students, and I believe my greatest strength as a tutor is my genuine commitment to each student's success.
I tailor my lessons to each student's individual learning style, academic background, and goals. For SAT tutoring in particular, I like to begin with a diagnostic assessment to identify a student's strengths and areas for improvement. This allows me to create a personalized learning plan that focuses on the skills that will have the greatest impact on their performance. My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to help them develop the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to achieve their goals.
