I am a dedicated and supportive tutor who is passionate about helping young learners build strong reading and literacy skills. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and have over three years of experience working with students through substitute teaching and tutoring. I have worked with elementary-aged students (K–6) in both group settings and one-on-one sessions, which has allowed me to support a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
In my tutoring sessions, I use a combination of structured routines and interactive strategies to keep students engaged and on task. I incorporate visual supports, simple tools such as whiteboards and index cards, and movement-based activities to help reinforce learning. My approach focuses on breaking down skills into manageable steps, checking for understanding, and building confidence along the way. I also use positive reinforcement and encouragement to help students stay motivated and develop a growth mindset.
My goal is not only to improve students’ reading skills, but also to help them feel confident in their abilities and enjoy learning. I take the time to build strong relationships with my students so they feel supported, safe, and known in every session. I am committed to helping each student make meaningful progress and reach their full potential.
