Hello! My name is Maahi, and I am a finance major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the Commonwealth Honors College. I graduated from high school in Spring 2025. Throughout my time as a student, I have always appreciated and valued teachers who take the time to ensure that each student understands the material and approaches it in a productive and non-overwhelming manner. In my own approach to tutoring, I plan to encourage asking questions and help with the material in a way that will be most beneficial to the student. Specifically, I am interested in online tutoring because I can cater to the students in a flexible, one-on-one environment, where the student can proceed with learning at their own comfortable pace.
I have experience working with various age groups in tutoring and volunteering settings. For a brief period of time, I volunteered at a Montessori school, where I worked hands-on with younger children and helped them develop foundational skills at varying levels. In high school, I was a part of the Math Honors Society, where I tutored freshmen and sophomores in subjects such as basic geometry and algebra. These small group/one-on-one sessions helped me to understand the mindset of the student, and gear my tutoring to the foundational concepts that the students needed help with.
Through these hands-on experiences, I’ve learned how to cater my tutoring toward each student by remaining flexible and encouraging honest communication to establish their foundational skills. I am open to exploring any materials that the students or parents want to utilize, because I want to maximize the students' growth. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and I will always make sure to respond promptly!
