My approach to teaching is rooted in my own journey as an engineer who transitioned into the highest levels of global finance. I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, a background that fundamentally shaped how I look at problems. After university, I spent over fifteen years on Wall Street, eventually becoming an Executive at multiple global banks where I ran billion-dollar trading desks. I have spent my career simplifying difficult concepts.
I have mentored dozens of junior analysts and associates, guiding them through one-on-one sessions on everything from stochastic calculus to yield curve modeling. I led large training workshops for global trading teams in New York, London, and Singapore on all concepts of high finance including trading, compliance and risk. My methods are hands-on and conversational. I am a master of Excel and VBA and I use the same multi-billion dollar scenarios I managed in my career to give students a "ground truth" understanding of the material. Whether I am prepping a student for a high-stakes "Superday" interview at a top bank or helping an MBA student navigate a rigorous quantitative course, I adapt my style to your specific goals.
I primarily work with university students and career professionals who need more than just a surface-level explanation. Because I have lived the math/models I teach, I can offer insights that a traditional path simply cannot. I have taught/guided students of all ages, from early-career professionals in their twenties to seasoned executives looking to sharpen their technical edge. I believe that anyone can master quantitative finance and Wall St. if it is explained through the lens of experience. I bring my engineering roots and Wall Street experience to every session.
