The best results I have had are with students who have come to me at the elementary level when I have been able to not only teach them the subject matter but also train them to think and build confidence in them. Doing a interdisciplinary Ph.D., in BioPhysical Chemistry has given me a strong quantitative background for teaching Math K -12. I not only helped with difficulties in current school homework, but also do long term training to develop a strong foundation in arithmetic and algebraic skills. Many of my students have gone on to win several Middle School Math Competitions including Math League, Math Kangaroo, Math Counts, AMC & Math Olympiads.

Since I have a interdisciplinary Ph.D., I am qualified to teach all science areas. Based on the interest and ability of the student I review topics in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, to both master the facts and think scientifically. I can also help with school science home work and brain storm ideas for science projects. My goal is to get as many students as possible, interested in science and engineering, the industries of the future. Students who did elementary science with me have gone on to win Science Olympiads at middle school and high school divisions. I train students for USABO, USNCO and F=ma( Physics Olympiad) competitions.

I do test prep for AP/IB Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Calculus, SAT Math, ACT Math, NNAT, OLSAT, SSAT, PAARC, ISEE, Terra Nova and G & T admissions.

I have extensive experience training students for standardized tests and my students regularly score high in these tests. I help students overcome the fear of test taking by making them subject knowledge experts. Once the confidence has been built I also train the student for test taking skills. Ideally it takes three months of biweekly classes to train for ACT Math.

With extensive scientific research experience I am fully qualified to teach all levels of high school science. I am been successful at training students for standardized tests and I specifically focus on test prep for ACT Science.

I make the subject interesting by presenting it from different perspectives and giving real world examples for various processes to make it relevant. This approach makes Biology an intriguing subject and not merely an information laden subject that has to be memorized and regurgitated.

I have an interdisciplinary PhD., with several years of teaching experience. My students regularly score well in SAT Math. I begin by teaching the subject material and then I follow it with test prep where I teach them test taking strategies. I recommend 3 months of bi weekly coaching to fully prepare for the SAT Math test.

I am a published author in leading scientific journals. I have written several grant applications. I have worked with students on college essays starting from brainstorming ideas to editing final essays. I have developed a writing program for elementary students to improve their vocabulary, grammar and spelling, where I work with the student to read fiction and non fiction writing of reputed authors and teach them how to employ the skills learned in their own writing. For interested students I have developed a writing workshop that teaches them creative writing skills. My students have won many middle school writing awards such as 'Letters About Literature' and Scholastic writing awards.

Great math teacher

I just started with Dr. B and am very impressed with her. She laid out her summer curriculum for Algebra 2 and explained how it would lead me through all the concepts in depth and also cover the school Algebra 2 syllabus and more. Throughout the lesson she explained the concepts very clearly and was very patient and would figure out where I was having difficulty and lead me forward from there. I'm really looking forward to learning the math from her this summer and being ready for school in the fall.
