About Collin

Bio

I recently graduated with a B.S. from Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business, majoring in finance with a concentration in alternative investments. In addition to competing as the veteran goalkeeper on the Fordham Men’s Club Soccer team, I was selected as a member of the Jesuit honor society, Alpha Sigma Nu. Finally, I ran the Hedge Fund Focus Group at Fordham and served as a Senior Leader, helping ambitious finance students secure internships and full-time employment.

Finally, I ran the Hedge Fund Focus Group at Fordham and served as a Senior Leader, helping ambitious finance students secure internships and full-time employment.

Some milestones of mine that may be of interest to students is 3.99/4.00 GPA at Fordham's Gabelli School of Business, ranked #15 nationally by U.S. News & World Report in its Best Undergraduate Finance Programs. I was also part of the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), where 20+ other finance students and I managed $2.6 million in endowment AUM. I worked at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Berkeley Research Group under the Valuations Team. I am certified under the Securities Industries Exam (SIE) and Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) Certification. Finally, I scored a 730 on the SAT Math section.

Some awards and honors I have received include Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honors program at Fordham; Alpha Sigma Nu (mentioned above); Dean’s List 2022-23, 2023-24; and Woolworth Scholar, which is given to freshmen at Fordham who achieve a 4.0 GPA in their first year.

Some previous tutoring experience I have is being a Senior Leader at Fordham, as mentioned above, and one-on-one guidance. I also ran the Hedge Fund Focus Group at Fordham, where 100+ students gained knowledge ranging from finance basics to the intricacies of hedge funds. Finally, I helped train younger basketball and soccer players in high school.

Approved Subjects

Basketball

Basketball

I was an Ex-AAU basketball player in New Jersey with experience training younger kids during the day and at basketball camps. I stopped training in high school but played in competitive leagues at Fordham University. I have been playing basketball competitively since six years old and know what it takes to create a good player.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Excelled at math as a child and very strong with mental math, algebra, etc.
Finance

Finance

I will be starting full-time in Valuation Consulting at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) in August. I am an expert in DCFs, comparable companies analysis, precedent transactions, and all basic finance curriculum. In addition, my concentration in alternative investments at Fordham University has allowed me to gain expertise in the field, as I plan to sit for the CAIA Level One. I also tutored Fordham students on internship recruiting for three years, including mock interviews, internship advice, and how to be a "go-getter" in the world of finance.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I was part of a rigorous interview preparation boot camp at Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business called Finance Scholars. In addition, this past year, I served as a Senior Leader and conducted hundreds of mock interviews with students. Although some of these were finance-related, I believe the core behavioral questions interviewers ask can easily be translated to any field, in which I am fully confident I can prepare candidates and boost their confidence and the quality of their responses.
Poker

Poker

I have played competitive poker for about four years now. I have taken various online classes, teaching the basics, math, and/or probability of a certain hand given a certain flop, turn, and river, as well as knowing your opponent and his or her tendencies, etc. I have mostly played 1/2 ($1 small blind and $2 big blind), and have over $5,000 in profits since I started tracking about three years ago. I have never taught poker before, but I believe I can be an excellent asset to someone who already understands the basics and wants to refine their game and take it to the next level.
Soccer

Soccer

I have played soccer competitively since I was 9 years old, when I made my town's premier team for my age group. I played throughout high school, being a three-year Varsity athlete, and continued playing for the Club Soccer Team at Fordham University. I have trained kids at various soccer camps throughout my high school career. I know what it takes not just to become an excellent goalkeeper, but also an excellent field player, as I was a field player until I was fourteen years old.
Spelling

Spelling

Participated in many spelling bees as a kid. As shown by my test score, I have a strong ability to know not only how to spell but also which word is appropriate for the situation (i.e., they’re, there, their, where, wear, etc.). I have never taught spelling before, but I believe I am more than capable of tutoring a younger student to improve their spelling, grammar, and related skills.
