Hi, I’m Rishi! I’m a sophomore at Hofstra University in the highly selective BS/MD program, where I’m pursuing a degree in Pre-Medical Studies with a minor in Neuroscience. I scored a 1570 on the SAT, including a perfect 800 in Math.
I specialize in SAT Math tutoring and have worked with 15+ students through one-on-one sessions, helping them strengthen core concepts, improve problem-solving speed, and gain confidence on test day. Through my work with Varsity Tutors, I’ve developed personalized lesson plans tailored to each student’s strengths and weaknesses, focusing on high-yield strategies that lead to real score improvements.
My teaching approach is structured but flexible. I break down complex math topics into simple, repeatable steps and emphasize pattern recognition, time management, and avoiding common SAT traps. I also prioritize active learning -- guiding students through problems rather than just explaining—so they build lasting skills and independence.
Beyond formal tutoring, I’ve mentored students in both individual and group settings, including working with groups of 20+ students through leadership and volunteer programs. I’ve taught students from a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels, from middle school learners building foundations to high school students aiming for top SAT scores.
Having recently gone through the standardized testing and college admissions process myself, I understand where students struggle and how to target those areas efficiently. My goal is to make SAT Math clear, manageable, and even enjoyable.
