Whether you’re taking Calculus II or Discrete Structures, navigating these subjects can be quite challenging. As a senior majoring in both Computer Science and Cognitive Science at Rutgers University, I can relate to this difficulty. Therefore, my goal is to simplify and optimize the way these classes are taught.

In sophomore and junior year of college, I served as a TA for Calculus II, gathering around 180 hours of tutoring experience. I have also led 2 study groups consisting of a total of 12 students, boosting their exam scores through completing practice problems collaboratively.

Furthermore, I have conducted three recitation classes for Calculus II, each with about 20 undergraduate students. In these sessions, I guided students through problem-solving exercises, and helping them with their assigned worksheet. My overall goal is to improve students’ conceptual understanding.

I also tutored several students through Wyzant in Discrete Math/Structures, showing students the technique and process behind writing proofs.

Calculus

Calculus

I have around 110 hrs of tutoring experience in terms of Calculus II, as throughout my 2nd year of college, I taught 3 Calculus II recitation classes consisting of 20 students each, and also tutored 7 students on a 1-1 basis. Within the recitation classes, I helped students review calculus concepts and helped them complete an assigned worksheet. And when it came to the study group, I helped students who were concerned about the course and were struggling with the material improve their exam scores through breaking down complex concepts step-by-step and providing plenty of practice problems. I offer a budget friendly $20/hr and would love to help in anyway I can!

I am passionate about helping others master Discrete Math and apply it effectively in computer science and other fields.

Nayana was very patient with me and made sure to break down and explain each and every part of the problem and since she’s a student as well she knows how to make it easier for other students to grasp. She’s an excellent tutor.

Nayana is an amazing tutor, not only was she flexible with the constant changing of appointment dates and time (my fault), but she’s always willing to go into extra detail when it comes to the actual sections I needed studying.
