I’m Hannah! I am a rising junior at The College of New Jersey/New Jersey Medical School as a Chemistry major in the 7-year medical program. Throughout my high school career, I was first introduced to tutoring through the National Honor Society, and that is where my love for teaching started. While I first started with chemistry, by working in academic centers such as Mathnasium, I was able to learn various teaching methods and interact with many students aged 4 to 17. As a tutor, I always try to connect with my students as a mentor as well as a tutor. By creating a comfortable and fun environment for my students, I am able to explore new ways to explain concepts and make learning more enjoyable. In addition to tailoring my lessons to the students’ needs, I always supply practice problems to confirm that the students have gained a full understanding of the concept.
I have 5 years of tutoring experience, ranging from elementary english and math to high school chemistry, algebra 2, and SAT math prep. I have one year’s experience teaching SAT Math, Algebra II, Geometry, and competition math in a classroom with 6 to 15 students. While I worked in a larger classroom, I worked to ensure that students did not fall behind, tutoring some students 1-on-1 to fully explain and teach math concepts in a way the students would understand. I have experience tutoring students 1-on-1 in various subjects such as elementary English, Middle School English, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, High School Chemistry Honors, SAT Math, and Organic Chemistry.
As a tutor, I am always willing to work with the parents to provide their children with the best learning experience possible. I am comfortable using any material provided by parents to help supplement the students’ education and have a flexible schedule. I strive to provide timely responses, especially in times of need (such as an unexpected quiz!). Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions or to schedule a lesson.
