Hello! I am a data science research professional with a passion for scientific learning and teaching. I have 8 years of experience tutoring data science, physics, mathematics, and related subjects at the college and high school level. My undergraduate degree was in physics and mathematics at Cornell University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I have also earned my Master's degree in applied mathematics (specializing in computational applications) at the University of Washington.

My areas of expertise include: machine learning/AI, Python, numerical methods, intro mechanics, intro electromagnetism, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, intro astronomy, and a variety of other areas in mathematics and computing. I love tutoring as it is always rewarding to help students meet their goals and to learn continuously alongside them. Please let me know what subjects you are interested in and I would be happy to tell you how I might help.

Please get in touch if you are interested in tutoring in any of the subjects mentioned or those related! I really do love helping people learn! If you have any questions about my qualifications or whether I am the right tutor for you, I would be happy to answer them.

Approved Subjects

Computer Science

Computer Science

I have taken the following computer science classes at the undergraduate level: introductory computer science, object oriented programming, and introductory machine learning. As a graduate student, I am involved in research and coursework related to neural networks and machine learning. Specifically, I can assist with debugging Python or MATLAB code, computing principles, neural networks, and other introductory ML.
Data Science

Data Science

I have significant experience with the mathematics and computing aspects of data science through my undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics and physics and outside research with NASA and the DOE. I have worked on research projects and coursework involving a variety of data analytics tasks. I primarily code in Python for data science (Pandas, SciPy, PyTorch, etc.) and am familiar with many popular methods in various fields (physics, neuroscience, image processing, audio processing, etc.).
MATLAB

MATLAB

I have used MATLAB for 5 years for applications in numerical analysis and linear algebra as well as for computer vision/robotics software development. It has been a major component in several courses and research projects I have participated in. I am happy to help with debugging basic problems in mathematics/physics as well as understanding some of the packages for numerical analysis and image processing.
Physics

Physics

I have tutored physics at the undergraduate and high school level for the past 6 years. I always enjoy covering mechanics, electromagnetism, or introductory quantum mechanics together with a student and increasing their conceptual understanding so that the math makes sense! I try to find intuitive descriptions and visuals to convey physics in a way that best suits the student.
Python

Python

Experienced using: NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Pandas, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Spark, and a variety of related data science packages Research Experience: I have done internships and research work using primarily Python with NASA, the DOE, Cornell University, and most recently the University of Washington. My research areas have involved image analytics, astronomy, robotics, geophysics, reduced order modelling, and neuroscience. I enjoy problem solving in Python and making sense of complex data with a variety of software tools.
