I have recently taken the CFA Level 2 exam, a high-level comprehensive financial assessment. Additionally, I passed the SIE, which is administered by FINRA.
I did quite a bit of tutoring in high school, though that was through a volunteer program. Additionally, I often tutored friends of mine. Most recently, I was a tutor for the athletic department at Clemson University for Economics and and Accounting. These were freshmen student-athletes who were required by their athletic programs to attend tutoring sessions. The context of my teaching experience ranged from one-on-ones to a group of 4. My teaching approach consisted of a few main steps. The first was to identify what exactly the student was struggling with (comprehension, computation, application, etc.). Oftentimes, the problem was too broad to identify in the first place. Next, I would break the problem down into the smallest parts possible. In doing so, each step became very basic and straightforward for the students' understanding. Finally, I would demonstrate how the basic components are combined to represent the overall concept.
