Bio

Many students have come to me with a "Math Phobia." They find Math too complex, and very frustrating. I like to make Math fun, and in ways that are easy for them to relate to their lives.
I have 27 years of experience teaching math as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, a Middle School Math Teacher, a Math Coach, and a Basic Skills Math Interventionist. I have worked with a very varied audience through my career, and I have been successful in presenting Math in a clear manner.

I have been instructing mathematics based on Common Core Curriculum since those standards were first adopted in 2009. I have administered standardized testing based on the Common Core since that same year. Additionally, I have received a "Highly Qualified in Mathematics" endorsement to my certification based on the scores of the Praxis Mathematics Exam for professional educator.

I have received "Highly Qualified" status in Middle School Mathematics through successfully passing the related Praxis examination. I have taught Basic Skills Math in a High School. as well as elementary buildings. I have also been a Math Coach, where I worked in training other professional educators in a math program.
Prealgebra

I have 25 years of experience in education, teaching both Elementary and Middle School Math. I have specialized in working with struggling students in small group settings. I have also worked as a Math Coach, teaching and training new teachers.

Makes Math Fun

Maureen had a first lesson with my daughter today and she was amazing. Really worked with her on all different ways to solve the problem and also making sure she truly understood. Can’t wait to continue to have Maureen work with my daughter.
