I am an experienced English educator with over 20 years of teaching in New Jersey public high schools, working with students in grades 9–12 in both honors and college-preparatory courses. I currently teach high school English full-time and also serve as an adjunct English professor, where I teach first-year composition focused on academic writing, research, and critical analysis.

I hold a Master’s degree in English from Rutgers University as well as New Jersey certifications in English, Supervision, and School Leadership. My experience includes classroom teaching, one-on-one instruction, and small-group support with students ranging from middle school through adult learners.

I specialize in essay writing, literary analysis, grammar, research skills, and college application essays. I have helped students improve thesis development, organization, use of evidence, and revision strategies. At the college level, I regularly support first-year and adult learners in building foundational writing and critical thinking skills.

My tutoring approach is structured and individualized. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for growth, then design targeted lessons to build skills step-by-step. I provide clear models, guided practice, and specific feedback so students can make measurable progress.

In addition to teaching, I have published work in education outlets such as Edutopia, where I share instructional strategies and approaches to student engagement.

I enjoy working with middle school, high school, and college students and am committed to helping each student build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their academic goals.

With over 20 years of experience as a high school English teacher, I bring deep expertise in helping students develop strong reading and writing skills across a wide range of ability levels. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with students who struggle with comprehension, fluency, and confidence, and I specialize in breaking down complex texts into clear, manageable strategies. In addition to my classroom experience, I am a published author on reading and writing instruction, which reflects my commitment to effective, research-based practices. My approach is both structured and supportive, designed to help students make meaningful progress while building the confidence they need to succeed independently.
