Dear Students and Families,
My name is Geisy. I’m a former preschool, kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade teacher who graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Studies, a minor in Spanish and hold a preschool certification. I also have four years of tutoring experience. Throughout my teaching and tutoring experience, I have worked with students on early reading, phonics, and elementary math. I am a passionate educator who truly believes that learning should be a positive and encouraging experience. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them believe in themselves and recognize what they are capable of achieving.
All through my experience as an educator and tutor, I’ve learned that every child is different. Some students need additional practice, some need concepts explained in a different way, and others simply need someone who believes in them. That is why I take the time to get to know each student and tailor my approach to their individual needs, learning style, and pace.
I also believe that a strong connection between a tutor and student makes a meaningful difference. I am a genuine, kind, patient, and compassionate person, and I strive to create an environment where students feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves. I want my students to know that it is okay not to understand something right away. Questions are always welcomed, mistakes are part of learning, and progress should be celebrated. Whether your child is building their foundation in reading and phonics, strengthening their math skills, or simply needs extra support and encouragement, I would love the opportunity to be part of their learning journey.
My hope is that every student leaves our sessions not only having learned something new, but feeling a little more confident in themselves. I look forward to meeting you and helping your child discover just how much they can accomplish!
Warmly,
Geisy
