I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. I have been living in the states for 17 years. I was schooled both in Turkey and in the US finalizing with an MBA in management. The school I attended in Istanbul was private and the English curriculum was quite rigorous which let me establish a good foundation. I realized that I had a natural leniency towards English which I loved because it was the door to the world. I never knew I would end up living in the US because my parents never had the intention to do so but circumstances have changed and here we are. I learnt so much in this new land. It was a great opportunity and a transformation at the same time; I could take the best of both worlds and make myself a better, smarter, and more conscious person.
I currently work for a spice manufacturing company in Union, NJ as the head of steam pasteurization department. We import minimally processed spices from all over the world and process them based on customer specs. My job is to take the bacterial burden off of these products by steam pasteurization. It's a clean, chemical- and irradiation-free way of cleaning the product opening the door to organic spices. I have never tutored to anyone in the professional sense but I love communicating to people about politics, traveling, people, business, global issues, family matters and life in general. I am fluent both in Turkish and English. Sometimes I think of contributing my lingual knowledge somehow to help the US government with translation task concerning the Syrian war. Well, if an opportunity comes my way I will be happy to help. But let's first try non-formal route.
I am fluent both written and spoken.
