I have a PhD in psychology and am a full time professor. I have taught statistics courses using SPSS for over 20 years at both undergraduate and graduate levels and supervised a number of master's thesis and doctoral dissertations. I have a PhD in psychology and am a full time professor. I have taught statistics courses using SPSS for over 20 years at both undergraduate and graduate levels and supervised a number of master's thesis and doctoral dissertations. Also, I have worked as a data analysis/research design consultants for many federal/local grant projects. At the same time, I have worked with college students who just started learning statistics. I, however, do not consider myself a statistician. I am an expert user of statistics and I can understand where most users have difficulties in statistics. My experience with students at different levels gives me good ideas how to work with them. Everyone has unique strengths and weaknesses in learning statistics. I try to figure out students' unique issues through conversation and help them understand the topic by using various tools including simulations, short readings, and hands-on demonstrations.

I am also an expert in research methods and psychometrics. A lot of students working toward their degree have hard time because they are not familiar with these topics. Based on my experience, most of the issues students have are not statistical but related to research design and/or measurements. The combination of these 'trio' is the backbone of all social scientific research projects. However, strangely and surprisingly, it is not easy to find an expert in all 3 areas. Because of this unique combination of the skills, I can help well with your thesis/dissertation and/or research projects.
