Hi, I’m Dan! I received my Doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Mathematics, and I believe I am the right tutor for you. While receiving my degree I had the opportunity to not only tutor undergraduates in any number of college mathematics courses, but was also able to teach some undergraduate courses as well; including College Algebra, Calculus 1, 2 , and 3, Linear Algebra, and Introduction to Mathematical proofs courses. After graduating I took a teaching professor position at Northeastern University, where I continued to teach undergraduate mathematics courses as well as create the curriculum, homework assignments, and exams for the course.

With all this experience I have realized that for a student to truly learn mathematics they need to understand why they are doing what they are doing. Teaching and tutoring for me is more than just showing them how to memorize formulas but teaching them how and why these formulas work, so they won’t need to memorize them at all. My goal is always to make mathematics fun and make it, so the student wants to learn more, because when they are excited, everyone understands more.

I want to benefit each student as much as possible while tutoring, and because each teacher has different focuses, I welcome any resources of suggestions from students or parents.
