Hi! My name is Nidhi, and I'm a senior at Rutgers University majoring in Cell Biology and Neuroscience with a minor in Health and Society. I'll be graduating this May as an Honors College Scholar with Summa Cum Laude (GPA of 3.978/4.000). This summer, I will be starting medical school at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. I've always been passionate about education, and I truly enjoy helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I have over six years of tutoring and teaching experience working with students from elementary school through college. My primary focus is on one-on-one tutoring in biology, chemistry, physics, and physiology, particularly for high school and undergraduate students. Through my university's honors tutoring program, I've supported students in challenging courses like general chemistry, biology, and physics by creating customized practice problems, reviewing key concepts, and helping them prepare effectively for exams.

Beyond one-on-one tutoring, I've also taught in classroom and small-group settings. I've led hands-on STEM classes for elementary students through Mad Science, and I currently tutor through the Teach For America Ignite Fellowship, where I teach STEM and foundational academic skills in small virtual groups. These experiences have helped me learn how to explain concepts in different ways and keep students engaged, whether we're working through basics or more advanced material.

I also support standardized test preparation, including the SAT and MCAT. I scored a 1550 on the SAT and a 518 on the MCAT, and I focus on helping students approach questions strategically, manage their time effectively, and feel more confident under pressure.

When we work together, I focus on building strong foundations and then helping you apply those concepts to higher-level problem solving. My goal is to help you become an independent, confident learner while creating a space where you can ask questions and seek support when needed.

Approved Subjects

Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I have extensive experience teaching elementary science as an instructor with Mad Science, where I independently led classrooms of up to 20 students through hands-on experiments and interactive lessons. I taught topics such as weather, simple machines, chemical reactions, and basic physics, adapting each lesson to keep students engaged and curious. This role strengthened my ability to explain scientific concepts in simple, intuitive ways and adjust in real time based on student understanding. I focus on making science both accessible and exciting, helping students build strong foundational knowledge and confidence in asking questions.
Genetics

Genetics

I have a strong academic and applied background in genetics, including earning an A in Honors Genetics and related coursework such as Cell Biology, Biochemistry, and Neurobiology at Rutgers University. I also have research experience studying gene expression and neuronal function, which allows me to connect textbook concepts to real biological systems. As a tutor, I help students master topics like inheritance patterns, gene regulation, and molecular mechanisms by breaking them into logical, stepwise frameworks. My focus is on helping students apply concepts confidently to problem-solving and exams.
MCAT

MCAT

I scored a 518 (95th percentile) on the MCAT, with a 132 (100th percentile) in Psych/Soc and 129s across both the Chemical/Physical and Biological/Biochemical sections, reflecting strong consistency across all science domains. As a Cell Biology and Neuroscience major at Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude, I have a deep academic foundation to support all sections of the exam. I focus on helping students understand how the MCAT integrates concepts within passages—teaching them how to break down questions, identify patterns, and reason through unfamiliar material. I also emphasize effective review strategies, since targeted mistake analysis is often the fastest way to improve scores.
Sociology

Sociology

I have a strong academic background in sociology through my minor in Health and Society within the sociology department at Rutgers University. My coursework includes Intro to Sociology, Social Analysis of Social Problems, Sociology of Medicine and Health Care, Sociology of Mental Illness, and Environmental Justice, all completed with A grades. These courses emphasize applying sociological frameworks to real-world issues such as health disparities, structural inequality, and social determinants of health. As a tutor, I help students break down key theories and connect them to practical examples.
